A: During the summer months, we train on Eastwood Park in Hasland. During the winter, we train at Hasland Hall Community School - either in the Sports Hall or on the Astro Turf pitches.
A: In the words of the FA - the FA Charter Standard kitemark is awarded to clubs who provide a high quality football experience. These clubs are proven to be well run, sustainable and place child protection, quality coaching and safety at the top of their agenda.
There are three levels of Charter Standard Accreditation, and we are proud to hold the most advanced - which is the FA Charter Standard Community Club status. A Charter Standard Community Club must have at least ten teams, male and female football provision, a mini-soccer team and an advanced development plan - and must also meet a range of other criteria, which is outlined on the FA Website.
A: Anybody can play for Hasland Community Football Club - provided that they respect and uphold the club's values and behaviours and are willing to learn and develop. We aim to accommodate as many children as reasonably possible, with our mission being to develop young players and provide a safe, challenging environment for them to improve as footballers and as people.
A: Get in touch! The details of each of our team managers can be found on this website. If your child would like to get involved, give the relevant coach a call and they will gladly assist - provided they have the space. Prior to doing so, it may be worth working out what age group your child fits in to. This is quite easy to do, and all centres around the 31st of August each year. Whatever age your child is on this date dictates which team they will play in, so, for example - if your child was 7 on the 31st August 2019, they would fall in the Under 8 category. If they were 8 on that date, they would be in the Under 9s, and so on...
A:Yes, but we call them 'open sessions' as opposed to trials. These normally take place over a two week period in June each year and give players the opportunity to train with our teams. Should we have space, and the player enjoy themselves and fit in nicely, they may be offered a space with their respective age group team.
A: The standard amount, per month, per player, is £25. This is taken by direct debit each month during the course of the season. We also charge a one off £30 signing-on fee.. Our Mini Kickers Programme is slightly different, and includes no direct debits - simply a £3 per session, pay-as-you-play fee.
A: There's loads to gain from sponsoring a team - namely a lot of free publicity and the great feeling and reputational boost you and your business gets when you've given back to your community, and help support the development of local children and budding sportspeople. More information on what's in it for you, and how you can join our team of generous sponsors, can be found on our Sponsorship page.
A: There's a number of ways our club is funded - including sponsorship, signing-on fees, 'subs', training fees and fundraising initiatives / events. We are a not-for-profit club, so all of the money that comes in goes towards kit, equipment, insurance, coach development, referee fees, pitch and training facility hire and league fees.
A:This is, understandably, a common question. Player 'subs' cover a range of things including pitch hire, referee fees, league fees, insurance costs and the price of FA affiliation. They also cover equipment, winter training costs (hiring astro turf pitches and the sports hall) and trophies at the end of each season. They don't tend to cover the price of kits, which are paid through sponsorship, and they certainly don't go to our coaches or committee members - who are unpaid volunteers.
A: It is our belief that if a player is talented enough, and willing to put in the hard work, they could be 'scouted' whatever club they play for. In recent years we have seen numerous players be given trials and contracts at local academies and talent centres, and as the club grows this has become more common.
A: We are proud to be a grassroots partner of the Chesterfield Football Club Community Trust. This gives our club members access to a variety of benefits, such as discount gym memberships, cut-price match tickets, fundraising support and help with coach development. This partnership also brings us closer to the CFC Emerging Talent Centre.
A: We have an entire page dedicated to safeguarding. Take a look at this and, importantly, speak to our Club Welfare Officer - Natalie Dickens (07929 778747) should you have any concerns.
A: Yes. At the end of each season we encourage our managers to organise presentation events for their teams. These events are an opportunity for players to be rewarded for their hard work during the season. Each player will get a trophy for their efforts and there are then three 'special awards' up for grabs - Managers Player, Players Player and the Chairman's Award.
